Characterization and Sensory Evaluation of a Cosmeceutical Formulation for the Eye Area with Roasted Coffee Oil Microcapsules

The objective of this work was to characterize a cosmeceutical formulation for the eye area with roasted coffee oil microcapsules (MOF) and evaluate acceptance effects its use by consumers. MOF had 3% produced complex coacervation; basic (BF) used comparison. addition did not affect pH (4.52), density (0.99 g mL−1), consistency (0.77 N s), viscosity index (0.25 s) formulation. However, reduction in spreadability, firmness, cohesiveness observed. 58 assessors received one kit formulations notebook instructions carry out tests at home. They were instructed apply cream 28 days attributes application treatment on 7-point category scales. effect observed physical sensorially perceived spreadability tackiness (6.0 5.6, respectively), indicating approval easiness application. perception benefits (increase smoothness, hydration, elasticity, skin general appearance, signs fatigue wrinkles/fine lines) similar comparing BF. In conclusion, microcapsule is viable ingredient dermocosmetics sensory acceptance.
